New Mexico Casita ADU

New Mexico Casita Designed by Architect

This New Mexico Casita has a great backstory. The casita was the original house on the city lot. The owners wanted a larger home and designed it such that it was an ‘add-on’ to the little existing house. In the not too distant past, second units were not allowed.

The original house was modified to serve as an office for most of it’s life once the large house was built, and more recently, became a guest house, as first conceived. The casita evolved over time as needs changed.

The clerestory triangular pop-up was added after being an office, and now it brings in more light to the casita.
